It all started in 1999
Not many people might know that Seamless story was started in the year 1999 when Jason Finger along with Paul Applebaum, Andy Applebaum and Todd Arky got together to launch SeamlessWeb. In the year 2013, the company decided to join hands with GrubHub, another popular food delivery service provider, forming partnership under the name GrubHub Seamless. However on August 9 2013, the company changed its name to GrubHub Inc. The merger proved to be highly successful, with company’s daily order processing volume reaching up to 130,000 orders per day.
Awards and Accolades
During its initial years of operation, the company came out as a spectacular hit, winning a number of awards and accolades. In fact, it was awarded the 4th fastest growing company in the year 2004 in the United States making it to the Inc Top 500 list. In the subsequent year, the company showed remarkable success and was ranked as the company with the highest rate of revenue growth according to the Deloitte Technology Fast Program (2005).
Not just the company, but the website was also gaining accolades for its usability and neat architecture. This is the reason that the website was awarded to be one of the coolest 50 websites by the TIME magazine.
At the same time, the co-founder and the CEO of Seamless – Jason Finger, went on to win the 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in E-services category.
